Standing in Historic Washington Square Park, the focal point of “The Village” you will hear about the many uses this square has experienced through the years - mass burial ground parade grounds and a center of the artistic life of “America’s Bohemia right beneath your feet while looking at the fabulous historic homes that make up the “The Row”. Look in another direction and see the stately Elm tree that was the “hanging tree” in the days of public executions. On the south side of the park see a portion of the largest private university in the US, NYU.

A cul-de-sac in Manhattan?  We will not only take you there but tell you about its amazing past and famous residents!!!

You will also hear the details about the SDS Bomb Factory – that was right in the heart of the Village.

We will visit Bigelow Pharmacy – New York’s oldest, complete with original 19th century fixtures and accessories and stop to view the one time homes of Mark Twain and his “next door neighbor”, Emma Lazarus, author of The New Colossus… “Give me your tired your poor…
You will see the 2nd oldest Jewish cemetery in North America, the First Presbyterian Church, and the notable “Church House”, viewing America’s oldest Arts club, the Salmagundi Club and Forbes Magazine HQ
